Ugandan socialite Shakib Cham had the last laugh at Vurugu 2 after overpowering Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy with a technical knockout victory in their highly anticipated celebrity boxing showdown at Sarit Expo Centre in Westlands, Nairobi, on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The much-talked-about bout, which had attracted huge attention ahead of the event due to the rivalry between the two entertainers, ended with Shakib taking control of the fight and forcing a stoppage. The fight got off to a tense start as both fighters stepped into the ring ready for the highly anticipated showdown, but Shakib quickly imposed himself on the contest.
Within moments of the opening bell, the Ugandan fighter launched his attack, catching Arrow Bwoy off guard and putting him under immediate pressure. Shakib’s aggressive approach gave him an early advantage as Arrow Bwoy struggled to find his rhythm in the ring.
The contest ended with Shakib being declared the winner through a technical knockout, handing Arrow Bwoy a disappointing result in front of fans who had gathered to witness the celebrity showdown.
Arrow Bwoy’s wife, Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami, was present at the event to support him during the fight.
After the loss, Nadia was captured reacting emotionally as she watched her husband’s defeat, with the outcome clearly disappointing for the singer who had shown up to cheer him on.
The bout was among the most anticipated fights on the Vurugu 2 card, largely due to the personalities involved and the tension that had built up before they entered the ring.
In other fights on the card, Fatuma “Iron Fist” Zarika secured one of the biggest victories of the night after defeating Tanzania’s Najma Isike by technical knockout.
Bernard Achoki also produced a dominant performance after defeating Azaad Nasir by technical knockout. Achoki controlled the contest before the referee stopped the fight, handing him one of the most decisive wins of the evening.
Kenya’s Salim Amoit secured victory over Tanzania’s Deogratious after winning by unanimous decision. Amoit impressed the judges with his overall performance, earning the win after a competitive fight against his Tanzanian opponent.
Tyson Mauru also walked away victorious after defeating Clinton by unanimous decision. Mauru put on a disciplined display inside the ring and did enough across the rounds to convince the judges.
Meanwhile, Munaswar and Mr Clear The Air delivered one of the closest contests of the night, with their fight ending in a draw after neither fighter managed to gain a clear advantage.
The two battled through an intense encounter that kept fans entertained before the judges declared the bout level.
The results added to a memorable edition of Vurugu, an event organised by media personality Oga Obinna through Obinna TV Studios, which combined boxing, celebrity clashes and live performances.
The event featured several high-profile matchups, including celebrity fights, professional boxing contests and entertainment performances, attracting fans who came to witness the unique blend of sport and showbiz.
