President Edgar Lungu of Zambia says he has always longed to have a conversation with Africa’s most decorated politician, Raila Odinga. Edgar Lungu praises Raila Odinga as a political wave that has inspired him over the years on matters of leadership.
Lungu describes Raila Odinga as a statesman who has ever been in the forefront of fighting for democracy in Africa. The Zambian President thinks Raila’s role as a statesman is what makes it hard to reach him.
” PLO Lumumba who reigned in the 20th Century and Raila Odinga in the 21st Century are Africa’s Che Guevaras. Am proud to be an African because of leaders like Nelson Mandela and Raila Odinga. It has been my wish to have one on one conversation with Kenya’s Raila Odinga before i leave planet earth” Edgar Lungu said.
The Zambian President has urged the Opposition in his country to emulate Kenya’s Opposition and stop unnecessary fights with the government.
” It is not about who takes over as the next President. United, we have to focus and address the issues affecting the ordinary citizen in the struggle to realize development ” President Lungu added.
