Security tightened as angry elders give Ken Okoth’s widow 12 hours to surrender herself to another suitor.

Security has been tightened in Kabondo after angry elders mobilized youths to demand for the presence of Ken Okoth’s widow. The Luo Council of Elders summoned the widow of Kibra MP Ken Okoth, Monica, for traditional burial rituals in Kabondo Homa Bay County according to Luo culture forcing GSU officers to intervene and scatter the crowd.

“We have a suitor and Monica must tell us the day she is ready for the obvious as per our culture. We are not going to beg for what is rightfully ours” Nahashon Kosewe spoke to the press.

Part of the rituals would include ‘doing bad manners’ with Monica as per longstanding Luo traditions which dictate that widow can be remarried by a brother of her late husband.
